Photo by @shonephoto (Robbie Shone ) - A team of three scientists from the University of Innsbruck ski across to a measurement site within the crevasses at the edge of the Hintereisferner in the upper Ötztal, Austria. Can you spot them? The changing mass and volume of Hintereisferner has been measured by the University of Innsbruck for over 60 years, making it one of the longest detailed records of glacier change in the world. Over the next week, I will upload regular photographs from a project I am currently working on here in the Hintereisferner.
